Need A Nike Method Putter NOW?

If you answered a quick yes to that question then 1) You are a gearhead and 2) You know exactly what I am talking about.

The Nike Method putters were used very successfully in 2009, helping Lucas Glover and Stewart Cink to their first major victories but most golfers will likely wait until Spring, 2010 to buy one when they become available at retail on February 1st.

For those golfers who have crashed the golf Internet boards drooling at the images of these new sticks their 1st chance to snap one up comes soon. A Limited Edition of the putter will be made available through various outlets on November 2nd. Worldwide readers will have to track one down at the online NikeStore while my fellow Canadians have a couple ways to go about getting a METHOD into their hands.

Starting at 12:01pm EST, November 2nd, consumers can make an order exclusively through GolfTown's website at www.golftown.com. This can be done until November 30th or until quantities last. You can likely count on the latter as I am guessing that they will all be gone in days, if not hours.

For those who would like to acquire one of these putters but are less than inclined to pay the full tariff they might be in luck. Nike Golf Canada is running a contest at www.nikegolf.ca from November 2-16, 2009 for a chance to win one of the limited edition METHOD putters.

The winner of that contest along with those who successfully register to buy one will be eligible to receive a METHOD putter that is fully customized for fit, along with a bevy of other personal touches.

The putters will be crafted at THE OV
EN, Nike Golf's R&D facility in Ft. Worth, Texas. Each LE model will be personally stamped with 2 numerals or letters, come in a special edition box, and come with a certificate of Authenticity signed by Tom Stites, Nike Golf's Director of Club Creation along with the builder who actually completes the putter.

There will be five versions of the putter available at the time of the retail release in February, 2010. The model available in the limited edition release will be the METHOD 001 blade. The MSRP will be $549 (CDN).
